Student Leadership Challenge

The Student Leadership Challenge will follow the programs designed by Kouzes and Posner (2007). The book is separated into eight chapters and the eight sessions will discuss each of the chapters. The first chapters will introduce students to the philosophy behind Exemplary Leadership this will be followed by five sessions, which specifically discuss the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership:

Inspire a Shared Vision

Challenge the Process

Enable Others to Act

Encouraging the Heart

The intended outcomes for the Student Leadership Challenge are:

  • Students will be able to identify and explain the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership
  • Students will be able to identify the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership in others
  • Students will be able to identify the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership in themselves
  • Students will apply the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership in a practical way
  • Students will complete the Student Leadership Challenge
  • Students will receive the Certificate of completion
  • Students will create a Fall and Spring Leadership News Letter
  • Students will design and implement Spring Fling

The College will be operating on a four-day work week during the summer, Monday - Thursday. Offices are closed on Fridays.
