Assessing the College's institutional effectiveness is an ongoing activity at CCP. Several annual reports provide college staff with a wide-range of information that can be used to assess the institution's effectiveness along a number of dimensions.

Annual effectiveness reports include: The College Report Card, CCP Fact Book, Graduate Survey results; Background Information for 2004-2008 Strategic Plan Internal Scan; various Institutional Research Reports; and the College Budget. Additionally, the College is also in the process of finalizing its Middle States Self-Study report which is based on an intense process of institution-wide self-assessment over the last year and a half. This process and the ensuing recommendations have informed the internal scan.

Several other institution-wide activities have been provided throughout the Fall 2003 semester. Presentations related to Student Engagement and Student Outcomes were made during Fall 2003 In-service. Afterwards, faculty and staff were provided the opportunity to provide their thoughts on student persistence issues.

After reviewing institutional resources, the Data Quality Task Force helped to narrow the focus of the internal scan. An Institution-Wide Scanning Forum was held on November 11 to provide an overview of the planning process to-date and to solicit feedback concerning issues that should be addressed in the next Strategic Plan.

The planning discussion continued in two Roundtables (December 9 participants and December 11 participants) during which potential critical issues were identified. The issues were presented to the College-wide community during Spring 2004 Professional Development Week in the form of a questionnaire that solicited feedback about the importance of each issue and how well the issue was currently being addressed by the College Strategic Planning 2004-2008 Issues Identification Questionnaire. A presentation of key internal and external scan research findings preceded questionnaire completion Emerging Issues for the 2004-08 Strategic Plan.
