Jim Ruffins and Andy Mengel welcomed committee members and provided a summary of the committee structure for the Self-Study.

Judy Gay provided an overview of the Self-Study activities to date including the leadership retreat, the rationale for a focused Self-Study and the status report sent to John Erickson, MSA/CHE liaison on April 3, 2002. The charge to the Steering Committee was discussed by the committee.

Sharon Thompson and Tom Hawk presented an overview of the 1993 Self-Study and the 1998 Periodic Report. Findings and the College's response to the findings were discussed.

Jane Grosset and Tom Hawk discussed the College's assessment plan including availability and types of resources.

Jim Ruffins and Andy Mengel proposed a tentative timeframe and discussed proposed plans for the summer including developing a charge for each committee and soliciting volunteers for committees.
