  1. Distibution of Materials
    • Warren and Emilie submitted a report outlining how the Paralegal Studies Program met the Committee's Action Plan. A copy of Act 335 Summary Credit Course Evaluation Form was also provided.

    • Mark and Lynne provided the committee members with a report on how the Mathematics and Electronics course documents and syllabi addressed the Plan of Action. Deb also submitted this report for the Art Curriculum.

    • Joan submitted a revised list of questions for the Director of Institutional Research. After Warren and Joan had evaluated the IR documents, additional areas of inquiry became apparent. Elaine also had provided input into the revised questions.

  2. Interviewing Updates
    • Marcia and Elaine have conducted interviews with the Curriculum Coordinators (CC) representing the Communication Arts, Liberal Arts, and Culture, Science and Technology Programs. Deb has interviewed the CCs from Paralegal Studies and the Justice Programs. A copy of the minutes from the interview was provided. Marcia will conduct two final interviews on Thursday, March 20th, with the Program Coordinators from Behavioral Health and Human Services and Early Childhood Education.

    • George and Emilie interviewed the department heads from English, Paralegal Studies, Nursing, Physics, Office Administration and the Automotive Programs. They will also interview the department head of Behavioral Sciences within the next week to complete their research.

    • Joan and Elaine are waiting for a final date to be set to interview the Director of Institutional Research. Warren is also waiting for a confirmation time and date to interview the VP of Academic Affairs.

    • Sonya will send out the sample of student questions via email on Wednesday. Additional suggestions will be welcomed.

    • Maddy will interview English faculty during upcoming scheduled departmental meetings. Marcia and Sonya will interview students in an English course next Tuesday, March 25th at 11:00 AM.

    • It was agreed that each person will interview the respective faculty and students in the department/discipline he/she has been evaluating the documents for. A minimum of three faculty should be interviewed depending on the size of the department. All members agreed to assist one another during the interview process as recorder and/or interviewer. It was suggested someone could interview the faculty member while another group interviewed the students at the same time. Committee members will maintain phone and/or email communications throughout the week whenever assistance is needed for the interview process.

  3. Homework
    • Complete the work on program audits, documents and syllabi in conjunction with action plan and have written report ready to submit next week.

    • Compile interview data in a written report, if the interviews have been conducted.

Next meeting: Tuesday, March 25, 2003
