Agenda Items Discussed:

With S. Thompson's assistance and files, R. Gorchov submitted a summary of the development of the Liberal Arts Curriculum at the College, "Development of the Liberal Arts Curriculum at CCP: Chronology and Process." This document provided the Committee with a timeline for the development of the Curriculum that included a chronology of two principal phases: 1. Formulation (1992 1994) and 2. Implementation (1995 1997.) The chronology filled in key details about the curriculum development which were helpful to Committee members.

A copy of the College's Survey of 2001 Graduates was distributed to the Committee for their feedback. The Office of Institutional Research planned to use Page 4 of the survey as a model when developing surveys for Middle States. The Committee discussed various components of the survey grid and which items related to the Committee's charges.

A. Butler provided the Committee with information regarding the curricula that included the American Diversity requirement. Previously, A. Butler provided similar information for curricula that included the computer literacy requirement.

Committee members agreed to formulate their concerns and/or suggestions regarding general education for the next meeting.
