Present: Don Bowers, Judy Davidson, Fran Di Rosa, Ji Gao, Ely Marquez, Dennis Mc Grath, Kathy Smith, Barbara Spadaro, Sharon Thompson.

This was the first meeting of the Institutional Context Standards Committee. Kathy and Sharon, Co-Chairs of the committee chaired the session.

The Committee reviewed the material that had been forwarded by the Steering Committee Co-Chairs. The following topics were discussed in depth:

• Roles and responsibilities of the Standard Committee Chairs
• Committee record keeping
• Review of charges for each Standard Committee under the umbrella of Institutional Context
• Developing an action plan for the committees - due October 15
• Committee coordination with other Standard committees and other areas of the College, e.g. Institutional Research
• Communication - web site, minutes, public forums

The Committee had a preliminary discussion about research methodology and data collection. We agreed that meeting with Institutional Research staff early on in the process would be valuable.
