Academic and Student Success Division

Welcome to the fall semester!

As we collectively move forward, important information has been consolidated into one area for easy access in this website.  I invite you to explore our website and review it periodically as we often add additional information and updates.

A lot of exciting things are happening around the College.  Our Guided Pathways reform effort is underway and great work is continuing on this front.  Over the summer, department heads and curriculum leaders worked together to configure our programs into cohesive academic pathways.  During the fall, program faculty will work together to review the academic pathways draft and determine possible common courses, maximize course sequencing, and build curriculum maps to increase the efficiency with which students can complete a degree.  A new Academic Advising department with full-time advisors has been created.  These advisors will be proactively working with students through on-going outreach to students, assisting students with creating an educational plan, and monitoring students’ academic progress.  Also in the summer, faculty and staff conducted in-depth research into promising practices in regards to developmental education/ESL and are examining closely how such practices can be adapted to most effectively fit our context.

All of your hard work and dedication benefits our students, better supports student success, and helps our students achieve their goals.  I look forward to working with you as we continue our commitment and focus on academic excellence and student success.

Thank you and best wishes for a productive semester!
