Community College of Philadelphia Hosts a Family-Friendly Open House on Main Campus

Philadelphia, Oct. 15, 2012 — When Delsa Burch entered Community College of Philadelphia this fall, she persuaded a close friend, William Hollis, to enroll as well. During Student Orientation, the beaming couple made it a family affair by bringing Burch’s two daughters along for the tour.

“We know that friends, influential neighborhood leaders and family members are helping us to recruit,” said Jeri Draper, the College’s director of Admissions.“They are getting our information into the hands of prospective students.”

Therefore, at the Open House scheduled for 6 p.m. Oct. 25, 2012, the College is extending an invitation to prospective students and to their families, friends and community leaders. The event will be held in the Pavilion Building, on 17th between Spring Garden and Callowhill streets. Information will be available on the College’s admissions process, financial aid, student support services, online courses, and degree and certificate programs. Reservations are strongly encouraged. RSVP online at: openhouse@ccp.edu.

Students, families and mentors who can’t make it on Oct. 25 can visit the Welcome Center at the Main Campus, which is open Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Fridays (late August through early May), 9 a.m. to Noon. Main Campus information tours are available on a walk-in basis at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, and customized information sessions can be arranged for groups of six or more.
