Mechatronics On the CCAC West Hills Center, which houses the Workforce Development division of the college, training is being offered through a nationally recognized advanced manufacturing program, Mechatronics. Mechatronics is a new and exciting engineering field that integrates mechanical and electronic components with hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics and computer controls in the manufacture of industrial products and processes. Mechatronics makes it possible to create simpler, more economical, reliable and versatile commercial and industrial products. The field frees people from routine tasks and allows them to focus on solving problems, fixing equipment breakdowns or changing processes for optimal operation. This year, the Center for Professional Development is also offering an entry level course as a prerequisite to Mechatronics, for Certified Production Technicians. |
Certified Production Technician If you are interested in manufacturing, the new program being offered at CCAC may be right for you. The Certified Production Technician certification will give you the entry level skills you need to work in manufacturing. This nationally-recognized course covers Safety, Quality Practices and Measurement, Manufacturing Processes and Production and Maintenance Awareness. These topics are applicable to all sectors of manufacturing. This certification is endorsed by the National Association of Manufacturers and recognized by local manufacturing firms. |
